Object Verification

This dialog box is used to verify objects that have been detected by the Moving Object Detection, or to verify the results of a manual measurement. Also, the packed designation of the object is specified here. In the upper left part of this dialog box, a zoomed section of the image is shown. To the right, the data from the image, and the Point Spread Function fitted to the data is shown. Below this plot, another small graphic shows the residuals of the fit.

Object Designation: Specify the packed designation of the object to which the measured position refers. For objects that were found by the Moving Object Detection routine and that were identified with a minor planet in the MPCOrb database (based on position and motion), the software will set the designation as a default. Pressing the browser button [...] will to bring up the Object Identification dialogue, which will help to identify the object otherwise.

Accept: Pressing this button will accept the measured position(s). The corresponding information will be written to the MPC Report file.

Reject: Pressing this button will reject the position(s).
